Angel L. Revelant, an associate at Pollock Begg Komar Glasser & Vertz LLC, co-chaired the Allegheny County Bar Foundation’s (ACBF) annual Backpack Project, which distributed nearly 1,500 backpacks across Allegheny County last week. This is Revelant’s third year participating in the event.
A joint project between the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA) Public Service Committee and the ACBF, the program provided new backpacks filled with school supplies, including notebooks, pens, pencils, highlighters, and other necessary items, to students across the county.
Pollock Begg joined more than 30 businesses and organizations as a sponsor of the Backpack Project, now in its seventh year.
“We are thrilled at the outpouring of support we receive every year for this event,” Revalant said. “Both corporate sponsors and individual volunteers are needed to make this outreach a success. The Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank in particular has been a tremendous ally in this operation.”
The food bank helped to coordinate distribution of the new school essentials at locations on August 11 and 18.
Revelant previously served as a committee member and volunteer for the Backpack Project. The Legal Intelligencer also recently named her as one of 35 Pennsylvania Lawyers on the Fast Track for 2012 in recognition of her professional and community involvement.
